Hot Dogs, Snow Storms and Streaking........
Drew has a little problem. Well actually he has a couple- # 1 Being naked. I have put his clothes and diaper on about 15 times already today. He wants to be a nudist- except for this nudist is not potty trained so that is not working for me.
# 2 we have a hot dog obsession he wants them morning noon and night. They don't even have to be cooked he will eat them anyway he can get them. Yesterday he actually took a nap holding a hotdog in his hand. He has this ability to fall asleep anywhere so just passed out on the carpet yesterday. I buy the prewrap ones other wise he would get into them all the time so he likes to just walk around holding a hotdog too- he doesn't have to be eating it. Is there a toddler hotdog annonomous we could look into?
So its snowing right now and its snowing a lot! Its beyond the pretty and wonderful type its the Is this a blizzard type of snow? Yuck no I hate this kind of snow- and I am on call. I hate driving in this stuff which means they will probably call me anytime.... is that my phone ringing?

Bake off attempt! Take one!
Well I tried one of my breakfast ideas this morning. It was pretty good but I think a little too simple for the bake off. If you like McDonald's McGriddles give it a try!
So this is what it is - a cinnamon roll breakfast sandwich. Here's what I did. I made cinnamon rolls with icing , and then bacon and eggs this morning. I sliced the cinnamon roll in half making sure that the icing part is going to be on the inside of the sandwich. I put an egg and a couple of pieces of bacon in the middle. Smushed it down. I lightly buttered the outside bread and grilled it like a grilled cheese . Pretty good but I need amazing if I want a shot so NEXT!!!!!!

Race cars, chocolate cake and neat freaks
Well I have been trying to get my spring cleaning done early since I am on one of my weeks of vacation- well wait- tomorrow's the last day so I don't have a week anymore.
I wish I was a neat freak. Is there classes where I can learn this skill? I just tend to give up or get lazy or make excuses... find something better to do like shop. I love a clean house - just can't seem to get this skill down.
So One of our wonderful neighbors brought over a chocolate cake on Sunday -thanks for that( always helps with the diet I am starting tomorrow. ) The cake was on the counter covered in plastic until Drew got a hold of it. I am still finding chocolate from the front door to the fridge to the floor to my couch not too mention his shirt and his hair... ugggg found this mess after I had been cleaning for hours so no fun at the Smith's house. Seems to be no matter how much I clean there is always someone coming behind me undoing my work. So whats a girl to do? If I don't do it - it just gets way way worse and if I do I feel like it consumes me and is never ending. I need a class oh my husband needs one too.
So after completely going through the boys room yesterday- organizing, throwing away, donating and cleaning I finally got it done. The room looked great - Derek was so happy (cause he didn't have to do it) until our friend from across the street came over to play happily in our nice and organized room. I happily reminded the boys to put things back when they we done playing so the room stays nice- Derek said I know I know. Well of course they didn't and of course our friend had to go home so it was a disaster- Derek had to stay in his room until it was clean and organized again on his own. Needless to say he was not happy and said he was running away. Oh boy - is that already starting?
So after the room was clean again- We decided to put up Drew's new race car bed! Some friends were getting rid of it so I jumped at the chance of possibly finding the answer to getting Drew to sleep in his own bed! Well the bed is great - he loves it and slept there all night . We did not realize how big it was going to be though- it has cut down a lot of play room. I also should have considered this before I cleaned and organized the room exactly how I wanted it. Now we have too much stuff in there- oh boy here we go again! I may have to make another goodwill pile and do some consolidating and furniture moving. Speaking of which since my race car driver is peacefully napping in his mom's bed maybe I should do that now.

This explains everything!
“If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening, be patient. It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear.”

I am going to be inspecting my husband's and the boy's ears right now!

Anniversary Video
Well here's the video Steve made me last night- he thinks he is soooo funny. Parental Advisory suggested....
Anniversary night out
Well our Vegas trip ended up not working out.... long story but it's done now. So we just spent the day with the kids and then went shooting (yes I said shooting!) and out to dinner. Steve is working on a video for me his sense of humor is questionable so I will have to see the finished product first to see if its postable or not. So that would be my present little does he know he bought me jewelry too. He He. Girls got to take care of herself- he gets me things but they are usually very practical and that only works for so long.

Five years of wedded bliss
Five years of marriage and ten years together. When I met Steve 10 years ago I never imagined we would be married with two handsome boys. We were young- I had plans, and he had plans but somehow we found each other and made our own plans together. I have learned a great many things from the man I have married. I have learned how to have patience, and unconditional love. I have learned that marriage is hard but wonderful at the same time. We agree and disagree but at the end of the day we love each other and the life that we share. Looking forward to see what the next 60 or 70 years ( Hey I could live to be 100! ) will bring.

A Blogtastic Day
So I have been sitting on call for 4 days and was actually home for a Saturday. I am usually working so gotta take advantage of a Saturday at home with Steve and the kids. We decided to go to the World of Wheels in Minneapolis today. It really was not all that exciting but the kids had fun and Derek saw one of his celebrity favorites from Hannah Montana- he can't admit that he likes the show because its a "girls show" but he says he watches it to watch the boys on the show.
No autographs though- the line was a little long and the boys were a little too impatient but Derek thought it was cool that he saw them and I think was a little too shy to meet him.
The car show was in the same building where The Minnesota Wild team plays so we went to go see if anyone was skating on the ice. No ice- just some kids playing from a school-
and for the entertainment portion of the blog a video of Drew sorta dancing..............

Comfort Food- Recipe of the week/month whatever? - MeatLoaf
Well I have been trying out different meatloaf recipes and keep on coming back to this one. Made it tonight and decided this is the keeper. I like quick and easy but homemade food. So for dinner tonight we had meatloaf- fresh green beans and cornbread- comfort food at its best. Oh and Erin I did Jillians workout DVD today so I earned it!!!!!
Meatloaf Recipe
Ingredients:
1 package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 large egg
2/3 cup milk
3 Tablespoons catsup
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 Tablespoon yellow mustard
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. Mix the onion soup mix, ground beef, egg and milk together.
3. Form the combination into a well packed loaf shape in a 13 X 9 X 2 loaf pan.
4. Combine the rest of the ingredients and spoon onto the top of the meatloaf.
5. Bake uncovered, for about an hour. When done, take the meatloaf out of the pan and place on a serving plate. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
This is a meatloaf recipe you'll use again and again, enjoy!
Cornbread was just a mix- good ole jiffy....
